Nigeria’s CTO to proffer solutions to broadband challenges

The 11th annual Commonwealth Telecommunications Organisation (CTO) Forum holding next week in Abuja will address critical issues militating against broadband infrastructure development in Nigeria and commonwealth region. The Forum, which holds this year in tandem with the 53rd Council Meeting of CTO, is the constitutionally mandated ‘flagship’ event of the CTO, which takes place every year. CTO Forum 2013 will offer regional and international solutions for those in Commonwealth regions sharing knowledge, lessons learnt and key information about technological advances across the Commonwealth and beyond.

The forum has as its theme ‘Innovation through Broadband’ and speakers and exhibitors at the forum will provide critical updates and insight into infrastructure, security and application challenges.

Key topics to discuss at the forum include Future Networks: Infrastructure Development and Enabling business; Internet Security and Cybersecurity: Developing Protocol and Ensuring Resilience; Beyond Social Media: From Likes to Learning; Cloud: Infrastructure Development, Security Concerns and Data Management; and Broadband as an Enabler for Women, Young People and Entrepreneurs.

Also, key speakers at the forum will feature the Minister, Communication Technology, Mrs. Omobola Johnson; Executive Vice Chairman, Nigerian Communications Commission, Dr. Eugene Juwah; Secretary-General, CTO, Prof. Tim Unwin; Chief Executive Officer, MTN Nigeria, Mr. Michael Ikpoki; Policy Director, Europe, Middle East and Africa for Facebook, Mr. Simon Milner, among others.
