PC Planet Limited, managers of online personal computers retail store, pcplanet.com, has developed an Information Technology marketplace for IT products and accessories.

The company said it was looking at serving the Nigerian web space with low price offerings, large product varieties, ideal shopping experience, rapid delivery, free live technical support and service centre.

Speaking to newsmen on the development on Friday, the Country Manager, PC Planet, Mr. Emeka Uzoegbu, said the firm had selected the best selling computers, smartphones, printers, software and accessories on its stable.

The firm, he said, stocked a wide selection of products from brands such as HP, Apple, Samsung, Acer, Nokia, Dell, Blackberry, Sony, Microsoft, Asus, HTC, Lenovo and Toshiba.

He described shopping at Pcplanet.com as totally safe and secure, with all debit card payment on the site processed through secure payment gateway.

He said, “Logistics is well planned with our delivery partner DHL to give our customers good delivery service. After a successful order, our agent will contact you with your delivery details if your location is within Lagos. For locations outside Lagos, you will be provided with an order status and a tracking number that lets you keep track of your order until it is delivered.

“It is a one-stop shopping experience where you shop in three simple steps: browse, order, pay, and we deliver. We also offer you an option of payment on delivery.”

According to Uzoegbu, technology is constantly changing and brands are continually launching new models, which is the vision behind PC Planet.  Commenting on the low price arrangement, he said the company used its bulk purchasing capabilities to negotiate best prices with manufacturers, which were in turn passed on to customers as savings.

He said Visa, Verve and Mastercard could be used on the firm’s secure mobile Point of Sales terminals on delivery of ordered items, as the firm had partnership arrangements with GTBank and Zenith Bank.

He added, “There is no maximum or minimum limit on the transaction amount on this payment method. Pay on delivery option is only available within select local government areas in Lagos State.”

He said the company was also offering free repairs for products bought from it or from other channels, especially for some brands in its stable.  The PC Planet boss continued, “To safeguard all your shopping transactions, we employ security methods in protecting your personal information. This includes a Verisign Secure Server Certificate to encrypt your debit card and personal information during a purchase.

“PC Planet employs the Internet’s Secure Socket Layer security technology.”
