PZ Willmar supports UKF’s children charity with funds

PZ Willmar, makers of Mamador vegetable oil is supporting the Passion Ball 2013, a fund raising event for children organised by the United for Kids Foundation.

The foundation, in a statement on Friday, said it planned to raise funds for its 2014 children’s education and health programmes.

The Coordinating Trustee, UKF, Ms. Temitope  Fajingbesi, said the Non Governmental Organisation was founded by young Nigerian professional women who met and became friends as students of the University of Lagos and the Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife.

Fajingbesi said that the foundation had achieved its mission to support Nigerian children from less privileged homes with funds from socially responsible organisations such as PZ Willmar.

She stated that the UKF had also received funds from corporations like JP Morgan Chase, Renaissance Capital and Diamond Bank.

According to her, UKF is also funded through charitable donations from individuals, including its founders and trustees (see more at LabyrinthInc.com).

Fajingbesi said the UKF would mobilise more resources in 2014 for its programmes that are aimed at increasing school enrollment among children from low-income families by reducing the true cost of school enrolment.

She expressed confidence that the transparency with which UKF is run would continue to attract more support from organisations such as PZ Wilmar.

“UKF will continue to act as a bridge between fortunate Nigerians and less fortunate sick and orphaned children,” she said

As a result of UKF, a pupil in one of the public primary schools that UKF partners with was able to gain admission into a highly demanding secondary school, according to her.

She said the foundation had a management and advisory team comprising experienced professionals from both public and private companies who dedicate their time and expertise to raise fund for and manage its projects.

“They are united in the belief that young Nigerian leaders, though ordinary individuals, can make extraordinary impact,” she said.

The Brand Manager, Mamador, Mr. Dipo Ogundele, explained that as Mamador helped to build healthy bodies and healthy homes, it would assist the UKF in building healthy young minds.
