93 vessels expected at Lagos ports – NPA

The Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA) on Friday in Lagos said it was expecting the arrival of 93 vessels at the Lagos ports between Sept. 20 and Oct.15. The NPA made this known in its daily publication– “Shipping Position’’.

A breakdown given by the publication shows that 19 of the vessels are carrying petroleum products, including six with fuel, eight with kerosene, four with diesel and two fi lled with crude palm oil.

“Thirty-seven of the vessels are sailing in with containers, six will bear vehicles, while four of them will come in with general cargo,” the publication said.

The NPA said 11 of the expected vessels were to arrive with food items, including frozen fi sh, bulk wheat and bulk sugar, while the remaining vessels are carrying various products.

It said that of the 25 vessels waiting to berth at different terminals, 21 are laden with petroleum products, including fuel, diesel, aviation fuel and crude palm oil.

“Four of the motor vessels waiting to berth at different port terminals are going to discharge containers and bulk wheat,” the NPA said.
