Electricity Workers Union Insist There Will Be No Handover Until Their Entitlements are Paid

The National Union of Electricity Employees (NUEE) North-west zone yesterday advised investors who purchased power plants in the area to shun the October 1st, 2013, date fixed for hand-over.

They maintained that there will be no hand-over until they are paid their entitlements.

Speaking yesterday during a prayer session organised by the electricity workers in Kaduna, Assistant General Secretary of the union Comrade Moses Amedu said their agreement with the government must be fulfilled before any investor can take over.

“We want to use this opportunity to inform the investors that they should not come near our installations until we have been fully paid. We are going to resist any investor that comes for handing over on October 1, 2013. We are running out of patience and if we do not receive our entitlements by next week, we will take action,” Amedu said.
