Oyo Government to Hold Job Fair, Targets Employment for 3,000 Graduates

The Oyo State Government has concluded arrangements to hold a job and entrepreneur fair in which 3,000 graduates would be employed.

This, according to the Commissioner for Youth and Sports in Oyo State, Adedapo Lam-Adesina, is targeted at reducing youth unemployment rate in the state.

The commissioner, while addressing journalists in Ibadan on Wednesday, stated that the proposed fair was a joint partnership programme between the Ministry of Youth and Sports in the state and E-Z 37 Solutions Limited.

He stated that the fair would feature 59 reputable companies.

The three-day fair, the commissioner said, “is another in the series of innovations being unfolded by the administration of Governor Abiola Ajimobi to take our youths off the streets.”

He explained that as a youth, he appreciated the challenges of graduates’ unemployment and was sure that the time had come to build the youths for the future.

He explained that the first part of the three-day programme would be for the induction of the beneficiaries on how to apply for job, right from Curriculum-Vitae to interview.

On the authenticity of the programme, the commissioner said, “Our people have been fooled in the past and there is no more faith in government. But anybody with the deep knowledge of the personality of the present governor will agree that he is not a person given to frivolities.”

He explained that the coming exercise would serve as a platform to build a database for unemployed youths in the state.

The Managing Director, E-Z 37 Solutions Limited, Adaorah Ayoade, said that the fair was targeted at repositioning the state for greatness.

Ayoade stressed that the beneficiaries would be trained and empowered.
