Access Bank Plc has announced the establishment of the Nigerian Entrepreneur of the Year Awards.
The initiative, according to the bank, is aimed at recognising, encouraging and rewarding entrepreneurship in the country.
The Bank’s Group Managing Director, Aigboje Aig-Imoukhuede, stated that “the awards will have two principal categories; Entrepreneur of the Year Award and Female Entrepreneur of the Year Award.
The Awards, designed to recognize owners of SMEs whose businesses have been judged worthy of recognition, will be granted at both state and national levels.
He said the initiative signposts Access Bank’s commitment to ensuring that women-owned businesses are given equal opportunity and recognition in the development of the Nigerian economy.”
Herbert Wigwe, the Bank’s Group Deputy Managing Director and CEO- Designate said bank’s next phase of growth would see greater focus on SMEs and entrepreneurs, adding that the bank’s five-year corporate strategy will positively impact businesses at every level of economic activity”.
“Nigerian Entrepreneur of the Year Awards is a strategic initiative designed to activate growth and stimulate entrepreneurship in Nigeria.
The selection process for honourees will be administered by a panel of Judges comprising eminent persons of proven integrity. Information regarding the Awards will be widely published in the media,” he said.
